Partnership Douglas County is teaming up with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to offer a Prescription Drug Round-Up event on Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 1038 Buckeye Road in Minden.
The Prescription Drug Round-Up was created in 2009 to encourage the public to properly dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired medications with the goal of preventing pill abuse and theft.
Only pills, patches or liquids can be accepted.
Please leave medication in its original container and mark out the patient’s name on the bottle. Pet medications are also accepted.
At-home drug disposal kits are available at the following locations for those who cannot attend the event or prefer disposing of medications at home.
- Smiths- 1341 Highway 395 N, Gardnerville
- Safeway- 212 Elks Point Road, Zephyr Cove
- Partnership Douglas County- 1625 Highway 88, Suite 104, Minden
Partnership Douglas County would like to remind the community of the three year-round drug disposal locations in Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe that can be used to keep your home free of unused or unwanted medications.
