Partnership Douglas County is teaming up with the University of Nevada, Reno’s Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) to offer a free virtual community naloxone training via Zoom on August 14th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Naloxone is a drug that quickly reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.

CASAT Project Coordinator, Morgan Green, will lead the hour-long training session focused on informing the community of the opioid overdose epidemic, and how to identify and possibly reverse an opioid overdose with the help of naloxone.

Attendees will learn how to recognize an opioid overdose. Signs include slowed speech, constricted pupils, dark fingerprints and lips, and unconsciousness.

Each virtual attendee can pickup or will be mailed a rescue kit that includes two doses of nasal naloxone that can be used whenever an opioid overdose is suspected.

Visit https://bit.ly/3kCM911 at 9:00 am on the day of the training to join or dial 1 (669) 900 6833 and use Meeting ID: 238 542 3850.

Passcode: 1234
