Partnership Douglas County staff attended the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce 2023 Business Showcase. With over 50 businesses at the showcase and 1,500 people in attendance PDC was able to provide education on smoke-free business’s and the 1-800-QUIT NOW resources to our community. PDC opted for this avenue to provide the education as we found that businesses and community members are more open to learning about local resources when at a fair and receiving an item in return.
Using the design for our Smoke-Free Events signs we created a Smoke-Free Business window cling and provided this to over 200 businesses. With leveraged funding PDC aims to provide signage to all county offices and businesses registered with the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce and Tahoe Chamber.
Through our efforts we continue to support our local behavioral health partners, healthcare providers, business and local non-profits connected those in need to cessation resources!
